This saucy job, just around the corner from ESH head office, involved us supplying and installing a trace heating system to frost protect a section of 2" metal pipework.
A leader in the speciality chemical manufacturing industry, here ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to maintain 50mm pipework at a temperature of +20°C in a minimum ambient of -20°C.
This was our second project for Toyota UK, this time ESH were contracted to supply and install a temperature maintenance trace heating system. The process pipework within the weld shop required maintaining above +30°C and this was achieved using our type SC constant wattage heating cable.
The cathedral is one of the most famous and recognisable sights in London and was a fantastic project to be involved in.
This was our first, of two, projects at St Pauls where on this occasion, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install the following trace heating systems:
- Provide hot water temperature maintenance of +55°C to the DHWS pipework
- Frost protect the roof mounted 4" and 5" CHW pipes
For this retailing giant, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to frost protect external 28mm MDPE pipework.
The ESH type H2OWAT55 self regulating heating tape was supplied and installed to provide temperature maintenance of +55°C. The tape was installed to the underside of the HWS pipework in a straight trace configuration from the un-vented water heaters up to the thermostatic mixing valves.
Within Renshaw Foods, a leading manufacturer of baking ingredients, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to temperature maintain 89mm & 60mm pipework at a temperature of +50ºC.

ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a high temperature trace heating system to temperature maintain five large fly ash hoppers at +110ºC. The required temperature was achieved by installing our type SC constant wattage heating cable.
At this site Aztec Oils manufacture and distribute high performance lubricants. The project scope for ESH was to design, supply and install a process temperature maintenance system to maintain +60ºC in a minimum ambient temperature of -20ºC.
Within this modern academy, ESH supplied and installed a frost protection system to the external BCWS pipework. The system was designed using type VC constant wattage heating cable.
This state-of-the-art energy recovery facility takes around 350,000 tonnes of waste per year and burns it to produce electricity. ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a high temperature trace heating system to temperature maintain a large fly ash hopper at +110°C. The steel hopper was 2m tall and 2.3m squared.

Within the hospitals new £16m Integrated Pathology Building, ESH were contracted to provided a frost protection trace heating system to the chilled water and heating pipework on the level 1 plant deck and roof area. Over 300 metres of constant wattage heating cable was supplied and installed.
Within this brand new McDonalds restaurant, ESH supplied and installed a hot water temperature maintenance system to maintain +55°C on all the restaurants DHWS pipework. The system was designed using type H2OWAT55 self regulating heating tape.
For this brand new technical college, ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to protect two runs of 90m long, 32mm diameter, MDPE pipework. The pipes run from the MFL building towards the kitchen building.
Regent's Place is a 13-acre fully managed estate in London's West End. This large scale trace heating project saw ESH design, supply and install trace heating to provide frost protection to external 150mm steel pipework. The project required over 550m of type VCBOJ8/2 constant wattage heating tape to complete.
Constant wattage trace heating cable type VCBOJ12/2 was supplied and installed to provide frost protection to the chilled water pipework.

Greenwich Reach is waterside development comprising of luxury apartments, a hotel and office workspace. Here ESH provided frost protection to the 125mm metal pipework in the basement area and within blocks A, B & E. Well over 300 metres of type VCB constant wattage heating tape was supplied and installed on site.
ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection system to the mains cold water pipework within the ceiling void area. The system designed utilised our type VCB constant wattage cable which was straight traced underneath the pipework.
Within this large car manufacturing plant, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install three separate frost protection trace heating systems to the following pipework:
- Weld water external pipework
- MCWS external pipework
- HRW external pipework
Designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to external metal pipework up to 200mm NB.
Within this brand new secondary school situated in the heart of East End of London, ESH supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the domestic hot water, hot water (return pipe) and cold water pipes. The system was designed using our type FBT self regulating heating cable which was used throughout.
A specialised trace heating project for the biomass energy development company Helius Corde. ESH were contracted to design, supply and installed a trace heating system to provide the following:
- Frost protection to the PDL, PA and PC external water pipework
- Process temperature maintenance to the caustic soda and syrup internal pipework
In total this project required over 1km of constant wattage trace heating cable.
For this project ESH supplied and installed a trace heating system to provide frost protection to roof mounted heating pipework.
Within this brand new BMW showroom, ESH were contracted to provided a frost protection trace heating system to external CHW pipework. Type ESRS self regulating heating cable was supplied and installed.
Built in 1811, The Old Gaol is now a Grade 2 listed building. Part of the re-development to transform into luxury apartments, duplexes and cottages saw ESH design, supply and install a frost protection system to the BCWS and MCW pipework.
In total just under 1km of type VC constant wattage trace heating cable was supplied and installed on site.
After supplying an installing trace heating system for temperature maintenance on both the endoscopy and ultrasound roofs in 2004, ESH were back at Good Hope Hospital to install a frost protection system to 200 metres of chilled water pipework above the emergency department.
For this high temperature application, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a trace heating system to temperature maintain pipework at +180°C. The pipework was located within a Zone I Hazardous Area and the system was designed to be a stabilised system.
Frankley water treatment works supplies drinking water to Birmingham and the surrounding areas. ESH were contract to supply and install a trace heating system to provide frost protection to external plastic pipework. Type VC constant wattage cable was used throughout this project.
For this our second visit to Kings Cross, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection system to the BCWS pipework on top of the roof. Constant wattage heating cable was utilised throughout.
ESH provided frost protection to the CWS, incoming MCW and irrigation pipework mounted externally in the car park area.
Our second visit to the Bourne Academy saw ESH make the final connection of the H2OWAT65 heating cable to the HWAT controllers and to commission the work.
For this international food company, ESH supplied and installed over 850 metres of trace heating cable to the screeded floor surface in order to provide frost heave protection.
This luxury hotel in Bristol required a trace heating system to provide temperature maintenance to the domestic hot water services in order to maintain +55°
C. ESH supplied and installed type H2OWAT55 self regulating heating cable throughout this project.
For this large redeveloped Academy, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to perform the following duties:
- To temperature maintain +55°C on the HWS pipework in two science rooms
- Provide frost protection trace heating to the external BCWS pipework and also the schools sprinkler pipework

For this renewable energy plant, ESH supplied and installed a trace heating system to provide frost protection to 150mm chilled water pipework, all mounted on the roof area.

Dudley Evolve, part of Dudley College, is a new state-of-the-art educational facility. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a trace heating system to provide frost protection to the low pressure hot water pipework mounted externally on the auditorium roof.
A rowing boat house owned by Birmingham University, here we supplied and installed frost protection to the MCWS pipework on both the roof and ground floor area.

Mizkan is one of the largest producers of vinegar in the Europe. Here at their UK manufacturing plant, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to temperature maintain 2" and 3" glucose pipework at 55°C.
For this leading international manufacturer of convenience foods, ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection system to over 150 metres of metal pipework containing boosted cold water. Type VC constant wattage heating cable was installed throughout.
Part of Waterloo's retail balcony development, ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a trace heating system to frost protect the CHW, CWM & secondary cooling water pipework on the roof area. Constant wattage heating cable was used throughout this project.

Within this fabulous looking civic office, ESH designed, supplied, installed and commission a Water Leak Detection System to protect critical areas within the building from the risk of water damage.
For this project we supplied and installed a trace heating system to temperature maintain a stainless steel vessel containing glucose at +50°C. The tank, 4.7m tall and 3m in diameter, required over 240 metres of self regulating heating tape to hit the required temperatures.
A rare trip overseas for the ESH installation team. Within this Berlin shopping centre, ESH designed, supplied and installed a trace heating system to provide frost protection to 200mm flow and return steel pipework.
Owned by defence company BAE Systems, they use this site to manufacture several aircraft types. ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to protect external pipework.

For this global healthcare company at their Ware research and development centre, ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the chilled water pipework located on the buildings roof.

The Royal Mint is the body permitted to manufacture, or mint, coins in the United Kingdom. Here ESH were contracted to design, supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to external steel and plastic pipework. For this National Trust owned country house, ESH designed, supplied and installed type VCB constant wattage heating tape to prevent the formation of snow and ice in the lead guttering on the roof.

Our first project here at The Leadenhall saw ESH designed, supplied and installed the trace heating system to temperature maintenance the HWS pipework. In total over 1.1km of H2OWAT self regulating heating cable was installed within this new London landmark.
For this project we supplied and installed a temperature maintenance system to a mixed sand surge hopper. The steel hopper had a cylindrical upper section and a cone shaped lower section and required a separate circuit on each section, complete with its own controller.
Kiddington Hall is a large Grade II listed manor house located in Kiddington, near Woodstock in Oxfordshire. ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the MCWS & BCWS pipework in the basement area.
To supply and install a frost protection trace heating system to over 200 metres of plastic pipework up to 25mm in diameter. This comprised of 140m of rainwater pipe and 70m of spring water/CWS pipe.
Designed and supplied materials and labour to install and commission a trace heating system for large steal tanks and the connecting pipework. ESH installed over 660 metres of constant wattage heating tape in total.

Thankfully a short sentence for our installation guys who installed a hot water temperature maintenance trace heating system to the ceiling mounted wash pipework. The hospital required over 150 metres of chilled and cold water pipework frost protected. The pipework which ran from the pump station to both a chiller and air handling unit, was installed with type VC constant wattage heating cable to maintain the pipework at +5°
C. ESH designed, supplied materials and installed the system.
ESH supplied a number of factory terminated frost protection trace heating kits along with thermostats for installation by the onsite insulation contractors. The goods were despatched on the day of order for a pre-10am delivery the following morning.
ESH were contracted to make the final connection of the H2OWAT65 self regulating heating cable to the HWAT controllers and to commission the trace heating system.
Within this modern extra care living complex, ESH designed, supplied and installed over 450 metres of type H2OWAT55 self regulating heating cable. The required application was to temperature maintain the domestic hot water pipework at +55°C.
Located next to the iconic Wembley Stadium, this brand new outlet offers over 70 shops, restaurants and coffee shops. ESH designed, supplied and installed a frost protection trace heating system to the external cold water pipework situated on the buildings roof.
Within this brand new hospital ward, ESH were contracted to provide two separate trace heating systems:
- A hot water temperature maintenance system to the wards heating pipework to maintain +55°C
- A self regulating frost protection system to the chilled water pipework
